Nahema

Nahema features shorter orchestral pieces that actually make up a complete work (Himinbjargar Saga) as the pieces can be fit together in any order to support ballet performances and other visual works of art.

The order of the songs are the way they were initially meant to fit together, but changing that order works fine in most cases. Himinbjargar Saga is actually a ballet following the old Icelandic folk tale of same name (story in Icelandic) and revolves around a Prince that is forced to battle trolls in order to rescue his father’s kingdom. While it has certain elements similar to the brothers Grimm fairy tales, it has unique Icelandic elements that are not found elsewhere.

Some parts are not yet available as they are under revision, but the original song order is as follows:

  • 01. Emperor
  • 02. Passing
  • 03. Burial
  • 04. Mourning
  • 05. Nahema
  • 06. Grave
  • 07. Waltz in A-Minor
  • 08. Departure
